Switch 1 emulators in 2026
If the query has no '2' in it, you are probably looking for a mature Switch 1 emulator. Those projects do not gain Switch 2 games by renaming the shortcut.
What is still moving
Eden v0.2.1, dated 1 Jun 2026, is the Switch 1 mainline. It publishes Windows, Linux including a Steam Deck AppImage, macOS, and Android packages. Its license line is GPL-3.0-or-later. Switch 2 experiments are a different repository.
Ryubing is the active Ryujinx continuation I could open. The project page showed activity on 2 Nov 2026. I did not lock a version tag, so the table leaves the tag blank rather than guessing.
Yuzu ended in March 2024 after the settlement Polygon reported. Ryujinx left public development in October 2024 after the Eurogamer account of Nintendo contacting the creator. Citron, Sudachi, and Kenji NX are names in the broader catalog. I could not read a current release for them on this pass, so they get no download link.

FAQ
What is the best Switch emulator in 2026?
For Switch 1, people compare Eden and Ryubing. That debate is not a Switch 2 ranking. Switch 2 builds are still experiments.
Will Yuzu 2 play Switch 2?
'Yuzu 2' in search is not a product I can point to. The Switch 2 lines have their own names: Eden-NX2, Eglantine, and Lichii.
