How we check emulator information
A boot is not playable. A single frame rate is not a ranking. Those two rules decide more sentences on this site than any style guide.
Sources and status words
A claim is checked when two independent public sources agree: a release note, an issue thread, a store page, an independently authored news report, or a project readme. A mirror, project-owned tracker, or article that merely repeats the same release is not a second independent confirmation. Source counts apply to each specific build and claim, not to all links on a page. One source stays marked as one source. Search autocomplete is not a source. An AI overview is not a source.
The ladder is Boots, Title screen, In-game, Playable, and Stable. Stable is unused until a project claims it and a second source agrees. Dates and tags go in the table. The page's modified time matches the last-checked date.
When two numbers conflict, both stay. Star Fox at 30 and at 60 is the example I keep. Empty cells mean the project did not print a figure. I do not estimate VRAM.
Readers can email a correction. I compare it with the release or the issue, then update the page. AI tools may help arrange a draft. They do not create the numbers. Paid placement does not reorder official links.

FAQ
Do you test inside the games?
The record is public text. The limitation line on each page says so once.
Can a project pay for a higher row?
No. Rows follow release tags and source counts.
