Eden-NX2 status and requirements

The tag that matters

The release tag is nx2-2026-10-29. The archive is Windows x64. It ships eden.exe and eden-cli.exe. Loading is File, then Load File, pointed at exefs/main, or eden-cli.exe with -g. The license on the Eden family is GPL-3.0. The author wrote that testing happened on Windows and that Linux users would compile for themselves.

Hardware text in that release: Vulkan, 8 GB of VRAM or more, 16 GB of RAM or more, plus the Visual C++ x64 runtime. I am not spreading those numbers onto Eglantine.

The release says that a lot of fixes remain and some mesh is missing because shaders are unimplemented. It does not name a game. TweakTown's launch report names Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, with stutter and visual bugs. That is a single media source for the named-game claim; GBAtemp's discussion link is further reading rather than independent confirmation. None of those is a compatibility spreadsheet. edennx2.net's game table was behind a block when this page was researched, so I am not quoting it.

When I opened the repository, the readme still said Eden is a Switch 1 emulator. That sentence will mislead anyone who stops there. The Switch 2 claims live in the release, and the Switch 1 product is a different tag, v0.2.1.
