oboromi, and what it cannot run
oboromi attracts a lot of curiosity for a project that tells you, in the readme, that commercial games and firmware are out of reach.
The boundary in the readme
The code is Rust, with a Qt 6 front end aimed at debugging. The hardware target written down is ARMv9 and the T239, and the GPU target is NVIDIA SM86. The sentence I refuse to soften is the project's own: it cannot currently run commercial games or firmware.
The newest release I found is dated October 2025. The repository still showed a push on 3 Nov 2026, so 'last release' and 'last commit' are different facts. License is GPL-3.0. The name is explained as a Japanese coinage, 朧実, for an imperfectly visible essence. That is flavor, not a feature.
There is no user-facing build I can recommend and no compatibility row to attach. If you wanted a zip that boots Mario Kart World, this is the wrong name. Eden-NX2, Eglantine, and Lichii are the names with public game notes.

FAQ
Is oboromi a PC Switch 2 emulator I can play?
Not today. The readme says commercial games do not run. Search interest does not change that sentence.
When is the next build?
No date is published. I will not estimate one.
